Qgunquit, Maine – Voted #1 Beach Town by Yankee magazine and the Qgunquit Beach is rated as one of the Top 25 Beaches in the USA by TripAdvisor!! Well, after reading about the hypes online and seeing the photographs in the glossy travel magazines, I’ve always wanted to visit Qgunquit; and finally I made it last week – A 1500 miles round road trip, that is, Maryland-Portsmouth-Portland-York-Qgunquit-Acadia (I’ll come to the details about this road trip in a later blog post).
From land to sea, there is no limits to the amazing beauty Qgunquit has to offer; It consistently ranks as one of the best vacation spots in the USA, and after visiting it, I completely agree to the nominations for the obvious reasons- Miles of beautiful sandy beaches, quaint seaport cove, golf courses, hiking, swimming, deep sea fishing, surfing, sea kayaking and more! Qgunquit has everything for every type of traveler. Whether it’s a romantic retreat, a family outing, an outdoor adventure or just for rest and relaxation, believe me, Qgunquit is your première destination.

The name Ogunquit, in the language of the Algonquin Indians, literally means “Beautiful Place by The Sea”; Ogunquit continues to live up to its name!! The major attraction that attracts millions of visitors from all over the world is the Main Beach here – The Ogunquit Beach; Along with the TripAdvisor’s ratings, it’s also one of the Top Ten in New England!! Trust me – Ogunquit Beach is more than just the beautiful postcard image.
Don’t miss to walk the Marginal Way, a scenic cliff walk that meanders along the ocean for over a mile and directs to the nearby Perkin’s Cove, a small fishing village, where you may dine on fresh-from-the-0cean food; An ultimate dinner/lunch after a marvelous scenic walk!!
Nothing more to describe more about the beauty of this location, just visit the pristine beach once in your life; discover the charm of Ogunquit and see what you’ve been missing.
